Understanding Taiwanese Slang: A Key to Real-Life Communication

🍅language Tips

Students often ask, "Why is it that after learning Chinese, there are still so many things I can't understand when I go out?"

The truth is, when Taiwanese people speak in daily life, they often use idioms and slang. Therefore, after mastering basic grammar, it's very necessary to learn and understand idioms and slang.

In this video, there are many examples, and during today's Chinese class, Yuri found quite a few of them.

For instance:

倱心瘋 (shÄ« xÄ«n fēng): "Losing one's mind" (used to describe impulsive or irrational behavior).

癟萬刷手 (bǎi wàn shuā shǒu): "Million swiper" (a term referring to someone who spends a lot using credit cards or online shopping).

衝動掟 (chōng dòng pài): "Impulsive group" (people who act on impulse without much planning).
