How to ask about professions in Chinese

In Chinese, when asking about professions, one usually used“zuò shén me ɡōnɡ zuò” “shì zuò shén me ɡōnɡ zuo de”.The answer to it is“shì”e.g.,

A：他是做什麼工作的？

tā shì zuò shén me ɡōnɡ zuò de？

Whats your job?

B：他是醫生。

tā shì yī shēnɡ。

I am a doctor

A：你做什麼工作？

nǐ zuò shén me ɡōnɡ zuò?

Whats your job?

B：我是律師。

wǒ shì lǜ shī.

I am a lawyer.
