Taking advantage of my one-on-one student‘a temporary anse this after,
I finally went out and announced the semester results which has been delayed for a total of four days after the final project ended.
It's very rare for me to give results so "late".
Anyone who knows me probably knows that I am a quick scorer.
I usually sent the score as soon as the last class accomplishes and then flew away the next day.
Anyway, I can't go anywhere this year,
then it dragged on like this.
With the ability of using excel to analyze data when I was in tsmc, It is just a piece of cake to deal with the calculation of semester results. However, what costs effort most is that every student has one’s own story, No function built in excel can handle the track of learning and growth among the learning journey.
I have to think twice and carefully as paying attention to fairness, considering about encouragement and also need to be careful not to hit the grades ceiling which cost a report writing.
In fact, the grades are representative.
However, if it‘s the only achievement of learning, then it might be too narrow.
Just like working is not just for money, otherwise it’s a pity.
There are too many valuable values in life
can’t be expressed by "grade" nor measured by "money".
Grade achievement has its fairness, as well as money has its necessity. However, the joy of learning and the taste of life are both beyond the limitation of “numbers” !
I’m not a teacher who values grades a lot,
I hope that the ability that students possess is beyond what numerous can measure.
I am a teacher who love teaching, and always thinking about how to let students learn useful thingsas having fun in it.What I pursuit has nothing to do with numbers.
People who are good at handling numbers don’t have to live in numbers. Numbers can not give the power of enjoying from heart.
People who give grades, appraise performance, have lots of money are not necessarily those deserve respect and admiration. And we all deserve a better life more than numbers.
It’s ok to do something without money,
but for soulless works, no way to do!!
